Movie pass giveaway (in other words, can I take you to the movies?)

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Giveaways and product reviews|Ottawa

{WHOOPS. I messed up the dates.  Please check the dates as edited below.]

Alternate title: “What’s better than a large cardboard box?” ;)

I saw the FedEx truck this morning and sighed. WHAT NOW?

Happily, I tore into the package to find a whole bunch of movie passes to an advance screening of “One Week” with Joshua Jackson. (Surely I can’t be the only one who watched Dawson’s Creek around here?)

I have 29 (YES, TWENTY NINE) passes to give away. (Thank you Mongrel Media!)

  • The screening is at the Coliseum (3090 Carling Ave.) in Ottawa.
  • Each pass admits two.
  • I have 15 passes for two for the Thursday Feb 26th show at 7:00 p.m. and 15 for Thursday March 5 at 7:00 p.m. Please let me know which you want to attend. I’ll keep track at the bottom of this post.
  • I  *very much* recommend showing up super early (say 45 minutes or so) because organizers give piles of these passes things away and there is always a lineup and seating is not guaranteed.
  • I’m not sure what this film is rated, but it is oriented to adults. So please leave the children at home (with adult supervision of course!)

I do think this would make a perfect bloggy playdate. So how about it Ottawa mommybloggers…  who wants to come to the movies with me? :)

I’m not exactly sure how I’m going to hand these tickets over to you (I will have to cross that bridge when I come to it) but ETA: For the first showing I’ll come to the theatre, meet the first group and hand out the tickets. (Should I wear a sandwich board? Put a red rose in my hair? *snort*)

** ETA: For the Thursday 26th group.
I’ll be standing at the front of the lobby somewhere inside the front doors at 6:00 p.m. I know this sounds early, but it’ll give everyone a chance to arrive, find the group, get popcorn etc. (I want to stay and chat for a couple of minutes before I have to depart and I really have no idea what the line-up situation will be!) I’ll be the tall girl with the black coat, blondy brown bedhead and big shiny black/blue bag. I will be looking around most awkwardly. :)

I will be attending the March 5 show.

ETA: for the Thursday March 5 group.
Same as above!  I’ll be there around 6:00, hanging out just inside the front doors. Please don’t arrive later than 6:30 or you won’t get your tickets!

Please let me know if you’re bringing a date. I heartily encourage singledom! That way you can buddy up with another blogger and we can squeeze more people in if we need to.

ETA: I’m updating as I go. Unfortunately lots of people can’t attend. Please let me know if I’ve forgotten anyone!

Shoot!!! I’m not sure I’d drive to Ottawa for a movie (given the 5 hour drive) but it would be something really fun to do. There are so many lovely bloggers in Ottawa, a playdate would be a blast….hmmmm perhaps something to consider/plan for the future. Yeah I’m up for that I think.

I’ll come to the movies! :) I rarely get a chance to go to the movies with two children at home, but when I do, I love it! Not even sure what this movie is about, but hey, a movie and a medium sized popcorn sound great to me! (I did recently see Confessions of a Shopaholic and I totally loved it!)

I’ll totally come to the movies! Would love to (even though I’ll have some serious baking to do for a certain photo shoot the next day). Looks like a good one from the trailer.

You had me at “Joshua Jackson”. Because oh my god I love me some Pacey.

The trailer for that movie made me cry. In addition to starring our very own Pacey Witter, it looks like such a loving tribute to Canada’s beauty and quirkiness. A dying Pacey might just kill me, but I’d still love to see it. I’m in if you’ll have me!

Whoops :) Not a mommyblogger – nor is Miss Erica over there, either. But come on…we share the Pacey love…and we’re doting aunts…and we really love the oat and molasses bread and make it regularly…(have we sucked up enough yet?)

That looks like a good movie. I just watched the trailer and I didn’t realize it was a Canadian until I saw him roll up the rim on a Tim’s cup :). I would love to see it, so count me in.

I just saw the trailer for this last night at the movies. It looks really good. Plus I’m always happy to see Pacey working. Loved Dawson Creek back in the day. Wish I could go!

I *think* I can swing it for March 5th and would love to go. I was a closet Dawson’s Creek watcher too :-) I have to check hubby’s curling (*snort* he thinks it’s a sport) schedule and see if my still-nursing-way-too-much 13 month old will survive without me!!

Chantal has convinced me to skip my class on Thursday this week so I can come out…so count me in for the 26th. I’m going to bring my friend Krista, too — she doesn’t have a blog of her own (but she should!!), but she is a regular reader and commenter here so I think she’s guilty by association.

I can’t wait!! I am actually nervous (am I a loser or what!). I am on my own. All my friends are busy.

I hope to be there at 6pm but I have to do some kind of magic kiddie swap which involves some driving, exchanging cars and more driving. I was hoping to get a bean curd salad at the Singapore before hand but if there’s no time I will survive. :) See you tonight!
