Book swap!

Posted by: andrea tomkins In: Swaps

Bloggy book swap!

Posted by: andrea tomkins In: Swaps

I was lying in bed looking at one of several huge stacks of books in our bedroom, thinking about my, um, special relationship with books. Basically, I aquire them and cannot part with them. Ever. BUT, on that rare occasion I do give one or two away I like to know they are going to a good […]

Posted by: andrea tomkins In: Memes/blog awards etc|Swaps

[ETA: three participants have been found. Yay!] Don’t you love getting mail? I do. I reeeally love getting mail. There’s no better feeling than seeing something poking out of my mailbox and knowing it’s a surprise for ME. :) I’ve been scripting a post in my head about a new pay-it forward** project. Candy swap: the results

Posted by: andrea tomkins In: Easy ways to make kids happy|Swaps

Awhile back I signed up for a candy swap hosted by Scattered Mom. Each person was to send $8 – $10 worth of candy to their swap partner. I decided to take the purist route and send mostly chocolate, brands that (I think) are only available in Canada. My partner was Renee. This is what I […]

The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human offspring: Emma (24) and Sarah (22). During the day I work as a writer at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
