Revisiting Family Game Night

Posted by: andrea tomkins In: Easy ways to make kids happy

For awhile there, every Tuesday was Family Game Night around here. And then, for awhile, life got in the way and we totally forgot about it. For me it’s very much an “out of sight out of mind” thing. All of our board games used to be stored on a shelf in the basement and […]

Funhaven is one of the best things to happen in Ottawa in a long time. If you’re looking for things to do in Ottawa, this is it! Laser tag, bumper cars, simulators, arcade games and much more!

These are called Nanoblocks. We picked up a few sets at FAO Schwartz when we were in NYC in August (which I still haven’t written much about – sigh). The girls chose a tree frog and giraffe. The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark. We have two daughters: Emma (19) and Sarah (17). I am the managing editor of our community newspaper, the Kitchissippi Times. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger, and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999... which makes me either a total dinosaur or a veteran, I'm not sure which! The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, family travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa for families. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
