Giveaway alert: a year of family fun at Saunders Farm

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Fishbowl patrons|Giveaways and product reviews

Fishbowl patron Saunders Farm is hosting this fantastic giveaway for a Family Annual Season’s Pass.

If you don’t happen to win it I should point out at THIS should definitely be the year you pick up a Family Pass. I happen to know that there are some cool and exciting things planned for 2011, a notable year because it’s a 35th anniversary for the Saunders family and the 20th Anniversary of Saunders Haunting Season.

There are plenty of good reasons to love the Season’s Pass:

It’s a great deal if want to visit more than twice.
Summer and Fall (a.k.a. Haunting Season) are very different seasons at Saunders and you definitely want to visit at least once during each season. But let’s do the math. Single-day family admission during the summer is $50 (+HST) and $64 (+HST) in October. If you’re a family of four, the cost of a 2011 family pass is $176.28 ($156 + $20.28 HST).

It’s a great deal if there are small children in the picture.
When the girls were wee, family passes were a real blessing. Sometimes we realistically only had one “good” hour or two between various naps, and sometimes we needed to cut visits short (you know how it goes). A family pass gives your family the freedom to visit often, and for as long (or short) as you like. No pressure.

It makes a great gift.
Grandma! Grandpa! Are you struggling to come up with a really special gift for your son, daughter-in-law and the grandchildren? This is it. Saunders Farm offers 100 acres of green space to get fresh air, lots of exercise and is a great place for families to play, learn and grow together. It is a lovely spot to visit. We go every year, at least once! A family pass is truly the kind of gift that keeps on giving.

To clarify, family pass holders receive UNLIMITED VISITS to the Farm during regular public hours from June 1 through October 31, including:

  • Unlimited visits to Haunting Season in October
(One admission per pass holder per day)
  • Unlimited visits during the Summer Farm Park season
  • Invitations and discounts to special events throughout the year
  • A welcome bonus FUN BUNDLE which includes:
    • 10% off a Birthday Party package
    • 10% off non-food items in the Farm Shop
    • two “Bring a Friend” Summer admission tickets – Valid any weekend in June 2011

More details about the Family Annual Season’s Pass are on the Saunders Farm website.

Now for the giveaway part! Woot!

This giveaway is for one Family Annual Season’s Pass for FOUR. (Note that kids under two are admitted free and do not need to be listed on the pass.)

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Leave your name in the comments below. Have you been to Saunders before? If so, tell us, do you consider yourselves Summer People or Fall People ? Or both? Summer at Saunders is all about picnics in the grass, fun in the sun, cold beverages and the splash pad. FALL is about rubber boots, hot apple cider, and witches and goblins. Kettle corn and mazes apply equally to both. :)
  • This is not a requirement of this giveaway, but I do urge you to become a fan of Saunders Farm on Facebook. Check them out here. Seriously, this is a great way to keep tabs on special events and deals at Saunders, all year long.
  • One entry per family please!
  • This giveaway is a quickie! In honour of Family Day (because Saunders is all about family) the draw will take place at noon on February 21, 2011 … so you have until that time to get your entries in… and please tell your friends to do the same! :)

Thank you Saunders Farm! And good luck to you all!

We went to Saunders Farm for the first time last year in early Fall. We had such a great time and promised ourselves we would come back the following year.

My fingers and toes are crossed that we’ll win a Season’s Pass!

We looooove Saunders Farm around here – I wrote a glowing post about it for Kids in the Capital this past summer. We would definitely get lots of use out of the pass but even if we don’t win, you’ll probably run into us there.

So far we have only done the summer months – I really like the mazes and the kids can play for hours in the big pirate ship. We’ll have to give October a try this year.

We have only gone in the summer, mostly because my daughters would be scared of the haunting activities. I love thephoto opportunities in the mazes. My two girls love nature, we have been to Saunders farm for birthdays, and just on days we have time. The kids love the animals, and everything there is to do at the farm. Living in the city, its great that they are exposed to such things, and is a great place to learn.
Recently, I lost my job, and am recovering now, but budgets arent what they used to be. A free seasons pass would mean alot, giving us a place to go on quiet days, and something for the girls to look forward to all year!
You guys have a great place there. I hope whoever wins, takes full advantage of what you have to offer, and spreads the word to their friends too.
