I was talking to someone today about how SOME people say that Ottawa is boring. Urgh. I hate those people. Folks, if you think Ottawa is boring, YOU are boring. There is so much great stuff going on, and so much of it is free. All you need to know, is how to find out […]

We have a winner! Was it you? Scroll to the end of the comments. You know what’s great about Spring in Ottawa – aside from the sunny warm weather of course – is the multitudes of people who suddenly appear outdoors. It’s kind of amazing. The winter layers disappear and we are walking, biking, running, […]

First, I have to say thank you for your kind comments, emails, and messages concerning my previous post. It helped a lot, so thank you. Dropping our eldest off at university was tough and I was a bit of a mess for awhile there but I am feeling better now. We are slowly readjusting to […]

It’s not QUITE September yet, but it’s on the horizon. Surely I am not the only person who feels a surge of excitement and energy this time of year. The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human offspring: Emma (23) and Sarah (21). During the day I work as a writer at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
