I’m off to a conference in Toronto called She’s Connected. I’ll be speaking on a panel about rate cards, transparency and disclosure… which are big issues in some parts of the blogosphere right now. The conference starts on Thursday but I have a list as long as my arm to get through today so I won’t be posting here until I can come up for air again. :)
Before I disappear for weekend conferences I like to post a little note about myself just in case new eyeballs arrive and they don’t know exactly what they’ve found here. I don’t want anyone to feel lost or overwhelmed. But first I need to say something:
#1: I am a lucky, lucky girl.
#2: Life is Good.
Ok.
My name is Andrea. I am a mother of two tweenage daughters and the wife of a very lovely fellow named Mark. I work primarily as a web content manager and freelance writer. I also write for the Ottawa edition of SavvyMom. I’m a veteran blogger (I’ve been blogging since 1999!) and this little corner of the Internet has become my “part time but really full time” kind of job. If I wasn’t totally and completely passionate about this blogging thing I wouldn’t have been able to keep it up this long! :)
I guess you could say that the Fishbowl is a parenting lifestyle blog. I’m a parent, and this is my lifestyle. The content here shifts and changes and grows, just like me. I tend to write a lot about my family and food. I am a big fan of arts and culture and outdoor spaces. I love to write about healthy and active living, and I get an EXTRA BIG thrill out of helping parents and kids discover all the hidden treasures Ottawa has to offer. Trust me when I say there is a lot to discover about Ottawa.
There are a whole bunch of people out there who support me and my writing here, and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention them: (1) my regular readers (who I love and adore and they keep me going) and (2) my blog patrons. My patrons are really great people behind some really great businesses and organizations that I personally support and endorse. So please click on their links (they’re on the right-hand side of this page) and give them some love, because I might not be here if it wasn’t for them.
You can read more about me here if you are so inclined. If you happen to live in my neighborhood of Westboro (or are just a fan of Westboro), consider signing up for an Extra Helping. It’s a free e-newsletter that features one cool find in Westboro. You can also sign up to receive my blog posts by email, thereby guaranteeing you never miss a thing.
Thank you! Over and out. :)
