A few interesting observations that are worth noting:
- I watched one of the birds remove something from the nest this morning. It flew away and dropped it on the pavement in front of our house. Thinking it might have been a dead baby I went out to check. It was a snail! Uneaten at that.
- I happened to be at the window when the wet bird (above) was switched out by the other (dry) parent, who promptly reached down into the nest with his beak and picked up a lump of something white… and ate it. It was poop! Ew. Apparently this is how they keep their nests clean.
