Destination: Carlington Hill

Posted by andrea tomkins in: - Ottawa for kids|Misc. life|Ottawa

If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw this post:

I try to get in 5K worth of walking every day. I do this by:

– going to bed at a reasonable time the night before
– setting my alarm
– putting out my clothes the night before (sports bra, top, shorts, etc.)

I get up, have a coffee, download a good podcast, and go.

My routes vary, depending on how I’m feeling. Today I went to the hill behind the Dulude arena on the advice of a good friend. And I’m glad I did.

Getting TO Carlington Hill wasn’t exactly scenic, but once I was there… wow.  It was a beautiful morning, and no one was around. And to think, I almost missed this:

I haven’t been here for years. (The last time may have been when we set off Mark’s rocket.)

Before today I had not yet seen the amazing bike park at the top! I hope it’s being used because it’s super cool. (ATTENTION ALL YOUNG PEOPLE.)

After I checked out the bike park I walked up and down the hill four or five times, and walked back home, happy I made the extra effort today.
