Because I don’t want to sound like I’m talking with a mouthful of carrots

Posted by andrea in: Misc. life

Tomorrow morning I have a dental appointment to have a couple fillings re-filled. Later the same day I will be participating in a CBC-radio panel about healthy eating.

What if my new filling leaves me unable to string sentences together? :)

I do hope I have my act together, and that the freezing wears off quickly. It’s been so long that I’ve had something filled that I can’t even remember. All I do remember is the discomfort of it all. And that drilling sound. *shudders*

re: the panel
I am waiting [gulp] to get the details from the CBC today. There’s a series going on called “Size Matters” and when I originally spoke to the producer we talked a lot about the parents role in ensuring their kids eat well and live healthy lifestyles.

With one picky eater (and a husband who is highly selective about the vegetables he consumes) it can be a challenge, but I think we do pretty well. We eat a fairly balanced diet, and nobody has a weight problem. We are relatively active … although I wish we were the kinds of parents who strapped our kids to our backs for weekly cross-country skiing and drank organic milk.

Would you like to chime in and help me prepare for my chat tomorrow?

What’s it like in your family? What are your strengths, your weaknesses? What things to you embrace, or avoid? What are your thoughts about the growing rates of obesity? Anonymous comments are ok here, so if you want to confess to a thrice-weekly McDonald’s habit feel free to do so. I won’t tell. :)
