Background is made of cardstock with newspaper and acrylic paint. The tulip shape was cut out with an x-acto, and I made packing tape transparencies from newspaper. And sandwiched between two layers of packing tape are real rose petals and leaves. If you were to hold it to the light it would shine through. :)
