It must be summer!

Posted by andrea in: Oh! Things!

1) Papa paid a visit to Canadian Tire to buy a slide that took the entire afternoon to inflate. Boy, he sure loves those little girls. And they sure love the slide him!

2) Nana brings out the snacks. The majority of kernels in this basket were examined. Ever since we found that octopus in ’04, no bowl has been eaten entirely uninspected.

3) One can never hope to look cute in goggles. I swam competitively. I should know.

4) In the photo below, Emma – who is older and the stronger swimmer – helps her sister make her way to the deep end. I love it when they help each other out. It makes me think we actually did something right.

5) Note the grey tooth. That’s from Sarah’s most recent face-plant on the driveway. I’m hoping it’ll come back to life like it did last time.

Ah. Sunny Saturdays. I hope there are many more where these came from.

The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human offspring: Emma (23) and Sarah (21). During the day I work as a writer at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
