I cannot wait until Josie is coordinated enough to jump rope! We’re doing hopscotch lately. Ruleless, giggly and spastic hopscotch, but it’s fun. Wanna come play?

Sure! Do you remember any skipping songs?

Here’s my contribution:

Not last night but the night before,
twenty four robbers came to my door and this is what they said to me.
Lady turn around turn around turn around.
Lady touch the ground touch the ground touch the ground.
Lady touch your shoe touch your shoe touch your shoe.
Lady that’ll do that’ll do that’ll do.

Here’s another one I remember:

I had a little sports car 1958
Turned around the corrrrrr-

[skipper jumps out of the rope, runs all the way round back in again while everyone holds the word “corner”]

– ner and slammed on the brakes.

[the skipper stops the rope by jumping on it]

Bumped into a lady, bumped into a man, bumped into a policeman MAN OH MAN!
Policeman caught me put me in jail, all I had was ginger ale.
How many bottles did I drink?
Ten, twenty, thirty [turning fast]
