Hats are happy

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Oh! Things!

I bought myself an awesome new hat. Check it out:

another view of the new hat.

Please ignore the weird expression I am sporting… but don’t I totally ROCK THIS HAT?

I did a wee calm-before-the-snow-storm grocery shop today. I wore The Hat. I also brought my iPod shuffle, which is great because NOTHING CAN BOTHER ME while I’m wearing it. Seriously, it’s like being in my own personal music video. I had a sloppy grin on my face the whole time. On the way home I stopped at Parma Ravioli to buy The Best Meatball Sandwich in the Whole of Ottawa. As I was crossing the street I was listening to Roller Coaster of Love by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. A gentleman driving a huge Budget rent-a-van kindly stopped to let me cross the street. The spirit of the music moved me (besides, I was wearing The Hat) and I gave him a hearty salute.

I danced on the corner as an OC-Transpo bus drove by.

Another view of The Hat is under the fold.*

What do you think?

 Spankin' new hat!

I LOVE my shuffle and super cute hat! Tomorrow (or sunday) I’m posting my head with sporting a super imposed trucker hat…not even close to as cute as yours.

I find my camera phone works really well at self portraits. Yours turned out nicely however.

I see you are a writer, I am no publisher but if you want to get in on some fun fiction writing come check us out. :)

Nice hat. I am devoted to my iPod, too. It makes a trip to the grocery store “me time”. Of course it throw the hair dresser off that I don’t want to chat but I have to talk to many people with whom I have a relationship that doesn’t involve money changing hands …

Julie: the iPod shuffle is the most pared down music player in the iPod family. It’s matchbook sized – tiny! – I love using it. I just load it up with my favourite music and go…

I Love the hat! It looks great on you :). And I totally understand how music moves you. It is a bit harder for me right now with the kids, but a little John Mellencamp can always brighten my day.
