Margaret

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Margaret, a professor at Queen’s.

The task: to take a traditional kind of headshot she could use for the web, handouts, and for other professor-related materials.

I had a great time hanging out and snapping away. I got a little carried away during our shoot and called her a cutie pie. I think she thought that was pretty funny.

She was friendly and chatty and made everything so easy. I couldn’t have asked for a better subject.

Regarding your question about Shutterfly, I’ve used Kodak twice and have been a satisfied customer. I’m not sure if the paper would meet your approval but the cards were easy to order and they were fast for delivery.

Veg: thanks for the tips!

Julie: Hee hee. It was so much fun. Maybe I can do the two of you together sometime?

porter: You’re so right. It never hurts to ask! Question is, where to begin? My top tips:

– fill the frame
– take a look at what your end result will be before you press the shutter
– take pictures to show your everyday life, not just birthday cakes and special occasions
– use natural light when you can
