Do not disterv

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

Sarah went to bed the other night with this sign on her chest:

Sarah would like to sleep in.

Gawd that cracks me up.

I feel the same way Sarah, I really do.

Mark and I spent the entire day cleaning and yet, amazingly, we made very little visible impact. How does that happen? Clean the basement and the closets, that’s how. *sigh*

I am pooped.

I have a frozen pasta dinner in the oven for tonight’s dinner (no energy left for anything more than that) and I am trying to decide how much kitchen prep to do for tomorrow. I have a feeling I’m going to be on the couch instead, with my feet up, watching the second half of Gone with the Wind.

Oh, I’m right there on the sofa with you. We already can’t wait for our Christmas Eve guests to leave – and they’re not even here yet!

As for cleaning without visible impact – I have to say, that some of my best accomplishments this fall have more to do with my knowing that what is in every closet and cubby and hidey hole and box is worth its being there. I will, one day, tell you the story of the junk drawer here.

And I bet your family will forever say “do not disterv” just as my family still calls my cousin Chistin, since at a young age, he could not pronounce his name, Christian. It’s just more fun this way.

I feel the same way too….I need to make myself a sign.
Oh I love walking into the girl’s rooms after they’ve fallen asleep to see what surprises I will find (both of them like to play quietly in their rooms before crashing…and both sleep with their doors closed). Tonight Mouse had about 25 polly pockets lined up in a row going down some sort of slide. Bug had 6 Little People stuffed into her water cup.
As for the cleaning, make yourself some of those spicy nuts of yours and curl up on the couch…wait until after the guests leave to clean!
