Santa came early this year

Posted by andrea tomkins in: File under crafty|Oh! Things!

Two things:

Last week I received a wonderful surprise in the mail from Ryan… a fellow who doesn’t update his blog nearly enough.

I opened the envelope to find three huuuuuge sheets of handmade paper from South Korea. They’re gorgeous. And huge. I will be coveting these for awhile, not daring to snip into them unless a REALLY WORTHWHILE project comes along.

To be frank, reading his letter made me a little dizzy:

“They have shops everywhere with a selection of tonnes of patterns and a myriad of colours, all for about $1 CDN for a sheet like these.”

At first I thought the stabbing pain in my chest was a coronary thrombosis, but I am fairly sure it was just a bad case of Craft Shopping Envy. ;)

To show the scale of these sheets, here they are on the couch:

Now a close up:

Thank you Ryan!

The second wonderful unexpected thing was the receipt of a SEWING MACHINE from Mary, my craft benefactor and all-round crafty lady.

She showed my how to thread it, and the ins and outs of basic operation. It’s been a long time since I used one. And even then I was never that good.

Think of the possibilities people! I made my first little project yesterday… bean bags! I think I’m pretty much set! :)
