The Allrecipe article is very interesting, thanks for posting that. (I look forward to your Weekend reading posts!) Makes me think about things like ‘peasant food’.

Although personally I know for a fact that I can create just as easy a casserole without condensed soup, I get the message its trying to evoke – quick, easy, convenient, everyone will eat it, everyone likes it, no need to consult any recipes because of familiarity…all that stuff you think about when the dinner hour is upon you and you have no idea what to make for the hungries in your family. You reach for what you know and what is in your pantry, not a recipe that requires shopping, and sauteeing. :)
