The engine light has been on for awhile now. Last time the engine light was on we took it to the garage only to find out that it was because the gas cap wasn’t screwed on tight enough. Yes. You read that right. And that, apparently, triggers the engine light to come on. Even if you do fill up and screw it on tightly after that, it will take a day or two to register. That little lesson cost us $50.
We also learned that unless the light is flashing, it isn’t considered an emergency.
Our light wasn’t the flashing variety. And we made sure the gas cap was tight. I think deep down Mark and I both knew that this one was going to be a doozy.
We were right. But did not predict how bad it would be.
