Back in November, Emma wrote a special Remembrance Day poem. Not only did it get published in the class newsletter (!), but she got to read it to the entire school (!!). The poem she read out was pretty long – maybe 20 lines – and was shortened for the newsletter. Emma was her own editor. […]

I talked to her about it before she went to bed earlier tonight. And this is what she had to say: Tomorrow we’re getting up early to fix her the traditional “Birthday Breakfast in Bed,” which everyone receives on their special day. Her request: sausage and pancakes.
My name is Andrea and I live in Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Sunny who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. During the day I work as a freelance writer. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one.
