Camping at Achray, part three (a bit about the trails)

Posted by: andrea tomkins In: travel talk

Going camping at Achray? You may want to read part one and two. I like to write about our travel and camping adventures, but to be honest, I’m never sure how to approach it here on the blog. I want to write it all down for myself, for my own family, but I also want […]

One of the great things about where we live is our proximity to Gatineau Park. A visit doesn’t need to involve a 100 km bike ride or a daylong trail blazing trek, it can be much simpler. So on Sunday we decided to pop in the car and to check out two easy Gatineau Park hiking […]

The first time, and last time, I visited the ruins of the old mill in Gatineau Park was sometime in the mid-90s. The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human offspring: Emma (24) and Sarah (22). During the day I work as a writer at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
