I needed some extra fuel at lunch today so I decided to head down to Westboro Village to check out the sandwich offerings at Piggy Market. The menu looked so GOOD I was completely incapable of making a decision. It was a four-way tie between these menu items: Turkey Sandwich – Olive Tapenade/Double Smoked Bacon/Tomatoes/Cheddar/Mustard […]

Dailylunches #1357 – Bowl o’ Green

Lunch number 1346 and 1347 was a real winner. I liked this little dish so much I made it twice in a row. And as an added bonus I got to use up some leftover quinoa that was kicking around the fridge. Woot! Spicy shrimp, quinoa, avocado bowl for one You will need: five shrimp […]

I don’t think there are many places where you can fill your belly for pocket change so I will call this particular lunch a PERSONAL TRIUMPH. I was coming home from a work assignment today. It was 1:00 p.m. I hadn’t eaten lunch and needed to pick up groceries, so I took a small detour […]

The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human offspring: Emma (23) and Sarah (21). During the day I work as a writer at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
