Ten things

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Easy ways to make kids happy

When we were sitting around the emergency department at the hospital with Sarah and her lip (she is totally healed now by the way!) we had very little fun stuff with us to keep us occupied. All I really had was a pen and a very small pad of paper. We had to make do. And we did. For five hours.

We spent quite a bit of time generating lists of “ten things.” It was actually fun. I pretended to interview the girls and they gave me interesting answers (with very little prompting!). Some of what they revealed was rather unexpected, but I liked the authenticity of this conversation. It was truly honest.

I do recommend doing this on your own. Who knows, you might learn a few things.

I am posting a few of our lists here this week. Feel free to add your own ten things (or more, or less) in the comments. I would love to see what your family would add to the list!

Without further ado, here is the first one:

Ten Things We Like To Do As A Family

  • camping
  • travelling
  • swimming
  • going to Nana and Papa’s house (Mark’s parents)
  • going to the museum or art gallery
  • hiking
  • learning about nature
  • family movie night and game night
  • eat at restaurants
  • read at bedtime

7. playing board games
8. trying out new recepies
9. going out on excursions with friends and their families
10. weekly “homemade” piano and dance recitals!
