Monday morn’ groove

Posted by andrea in: Misc. life

I am recuperating from a restful and relatively uneventful weekend. I’ve turned on the tunes to give me a little boost. My most recent iTunes purchase: “Hit ’em up Style” by Blu Cantrell. If you’re not familiar with this groove I suggest you head on over to the iTunes store to check it out. Also playing: “What are you waiting for” by Gwen Stephani. And as an added bonus, our budgie Pixie really likes the music. She’s chirping up a storm. I wonder if she thinks there is a flock of rockin’ birds trapped in the small boxes on the desk.

OMG you know what they’re playing on Virgin radio in the UK? ENOLA GAY by OMD. When’s the last time you heard that one? Wow.

When I was laid off, M and I decided that I’d work from home. It made sense. We already had freelance clients, so it wasn’t like I’d be struggling to find work. It was just a matter of organizing things, a bit of a juggle and a dance between childcare, meetings and contracts.

As I sit here, not fit for public view in warm slippers, worn jeans, undershirt, and a stretched hoodie that I’ve had since high school… I realize I am really only one step away from the initial promise I made myself.

When I started working from home I decided that I would never work in my pyjamas. Some people who work at home (and I can’t understand these people) get up, shower and get dressed as if they are heading in for a regular day at the office. Frankly, I am very pleased that pantyhose, a briefcase and matching accessories are a thing of the past. But I miss getting dressed sometimes. When I’m shopping I’ll look longingly at the snappier office garb. I don’t know if I’ll ever have the opportunity to dress for success on a regular basis. *sigh*

It’s tea time. Then back to work. Hope you are all well my pretties!
