Looking for a unique toy in Ottawa? I bet Mrs. Tiggy Winkle’s has something for you. What’s more, Tiggy’s is a family-owned store that has been a member of the Ottawa community since 1977.

I am thrilled to introduce a new patron to the Fishbowl family this week. The Ottawa Gymnastics Centre (OGC) is the oldest operating not-for-profit gymnastics organization in Canada and has been part of the Ottawa community since 1960. It’s been part of my family’s life for many years. We love what they do there, and how […]

We’ve booked our youngest daughter’s birthday party at Funhaven again this year and have been busy handing out the party invitations. They’re so neat (her idea, not mine!) and I wanted to share it with you: It’s crazy easy to pull this together: 1) Write or print the details of the party on a small […]

The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our two daughters Emma (18) and Sarah (16). I am the managing editor of our community newspaper, the Kitchissippi Times. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger, and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999... which makes me either a total dinosaur or a veteran, I'm not sure which! The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, family travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa for families. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
