And now for a different contest altogether

Posted by andrea in: Misc. life

Are you here via the Ottawa Citizen? Hello! Glad to see you!

I have more comments about that later (i.e. the floors are still beautiful, it doesn’t smell nearly as much, there are still wires dangling from the ceiling!), but I have other non-living room news to relate at this moment… !

I entered this photo contest. Now I need *your* help!

One (or two?) photos of mine were selected and will be on display at ArtsPark, Sunday May 8 from 10am to 4pm.

What is ArtsPark? Ack! So much ‘splaining to do! This, from their mailing list:

It’s a “one-day culture festival in Hintonburg’s new arts distict. Held in conjunction with the official opening of the Parkdale Farmer’s Market — which will be ablaze with flowers — this year’s event will feature over 100 artists, musicians and performers.”

As far as I can tell the winner will be decided by a vote. All entries from
the ArtsPark show will also be exhibited at Pukka Gallery on the 14th and 15th of May as part of the gallery’s Hintonburg weekend. Then, the top five shots will be posted on the hipsterandposer.com website in mid-May. After online voting, the shot judged “best in show” could be published in a forthcoming book, Hipster and Poser: A Companion Guide to Ottawa, The Character of the City.

ArtsPark takes place in Parkdale Park, adjacent to Parkdale Market, on Armstrong Street near the intersection of Parkdale Avenue and Wellington Street, Ottawa. I’ll be there, casting my vote. Please join me! And tell all your friends to come too. :)
