Shiny and new!

Posted by andrea in: Misc. life

If anyone asks, Enrique Alvarado of AE Flooring is a god among hardwood floor specialists.

Oh sure, the house stinks to high heaven, but it’s just the varnish, a small price to pay for the end result. The floor is gorgeous. It matches the rest of our hardwood floors perfectly. The room is transformed.

Check out the second photo below. That was our “problem area,” where our Christmas tree toppled over a few years ago and sloshed an entire resevoir of water deeeeep into the dusty rose fibres of our carpet. How was I to know the underpadding acts as a mold-infested trap for such things? Ugh.

Compare the photo it to this one I posted in this past entry. Whaddaya think?

And this is only phase one! He’s coming back Thursday to finish the job.

Until then, it looks like we have no choice but to embrace TV Turnoff week. :)
