They might *look* like cookies to you…

Posted by andrea in: File under crafty

It was before we decorated the Christmas trees that I decided that we needed more ornaments. So I suggested we make some!

We followed this easy recipe to make cinammon dough:

– 1 cup of ground cinnamon
– 1/2 to 3/4 cup of water
– 3 or 4 tablespoons of white glue

Mix cinnamon, water and glue together until you get a cookie sort of dough. Roll this out and cut out your shapes with a cookie cutter. Create any holes you may need to hang or string them together. Let them air dry over night or bake in a 300 degree oven for 30 min.

I thought it would be smart to glue on some silvery cake decorations. BIG MISTAKE. The glue melted some of the silver coating. Next time I would use stiff white icing.

Anyway, the kids had fun. And they spent a lot of time cutting and decorating. Now… what should I do with all of them? I have about two dozen! :)
