Things are getting merry

Posted by andrea in: Misc. life

Well, we’re here again. It’s the eve of Christmas Eve.

I emailed a very tardy card yesterday. (Sorry Cindy B., you know I love you…!)Most presents are wrapped. We ran out of paper and scotch tape early last night.

Me, a few days ago: Are you sure we have enough paper this year my darling snickerdoodle?
Mark: Yes, I’m sure.

*sigh*

Now, I must think about food. In our family we have a nice dinner on Christmas Eve, one that usually includes fish. This year Mark will be braving the crowds to pick up some fresh salmon steaks, but what to go with it? Any suggestions? I NEED SIDE DISHES, STAT!

Edited to add: due to the tastebuds of SOME eaters, items must not contain tomatoes, peppers, avocado, mushrooms or onions. Yes, this is what I’m working with.

After dinner tomorrow we’ll watch Christmassy TV, read the Grinch who Stole Christmas, and put out the carrots, cookies and milk. After the girls are asleep we’ll hit the Bailey’s, put out presents, eat the cookies and write a thank you note.

As much as I like giving/receiving gifts, it’s probably the part I like best … sipping a drink in front of the tree and taking in the scene.
