The last of my recent ValVill purchases

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Oh! Things!|Photography

Wooden checkers, can you believe it? They were sandwiched between the sets of cards I bought (and posted about) the other day. It was all wrapped in a plastic bag so I couldn’t see exactly what I was buying. :)

The set is intact. All 24 pieces are accounted for, twelve red and twelve black. They are warm to the touch, light weight, and ever so slightly asymmetrical in that lovely way.

I have an old table that needs refinishing. Hmm. Perhaps I can paint a checkerboard pattern on it?

THIS I am not jealous of. I just inherited my grandfather’s wooden checkers AND checkerboard. I will send you an image of them, so that I can feel slightly superior, to disguise how much I covet the two packs of cards.
