Humbly yours

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

I decided that I don’t like de-lurking day very much. Oh, you might feel okay about it. But I can’t do it. I don’t need praise heaped on me like cowpie on a farm field. And I can’t turn on those puppy dog eyes and ask for a comment or two, or two hundred, because according to my sitemeter that’s about the average number of people coming here every day.

But, um, you know… *averts eyes and shuffles toe in sand* … if you really wanted to step out and say howdedoo I wouldn’t mind. Really. It’s not really delurking if you just say hi, is it?  :)

I really do enjoy your blog. Just wanted to let you know, and emerge from lurkdom to say hello!

I do, I need praise heaped on me like cowpie on a farm field, and I’m happy to spread it too.

You rock!

I have been reading your blog off and on for at least a year if not two. I post occasionally, and am often wistful for the sense of community you have in your neck of Ottawa, while I don’t seem to have anything like it in my neck of Orleans. Or maybe it’s just me.

Hi Andrea,

When I read your post today I wasn’t quite sure what “delurking” was but, I had a feeling whatever it was I was doing it. So after a quick google search I realized that yes I am a delurker! Not only am I lurking on your site but, a few others as well – including Miss Vicky’s which originally pointed me in the direction of your site. I enjoy your posts and have now made reading them a daily lunch time ritual. I’ll try to comment more on your site and others so I can lose the creepy delurking title!

Hi Andrea,
I was introduced to your blog by mutual friends Kristy Phillips and Cindy Bush. I thoroughly enjoy it every day! I’m not a blogger but I lurk to break my writers block!

people may not need praise heaped on them like cowpies on a farm field, but most people enjoy it.

so, here’s your cowpie: i love your bloggie. i hope that you stay at it for a long, long time.

Hi Andrea, I’ve been peeking in the fish bowl for a few weeks now. I was going to join your Piggy Bank challenge, but I’ve been waiting 11 months for the January White Sales so I can replace my lumpy, dumpy old comforter. But I’m trying not to spend any other money unnecessarily…although Coldwater Creek sent me an email and they were having this totally irresistible sale so I broke down and ordered a few things. But other than that, I’m being really frugal and globally-and-environmentally conscious and stuff.

I am usually a pretty good commenter on most blogs I read. I am enjoying delurking week a lot, though.

I love your creativity and your Ottawa content and your photographs have really inspired me to take more of my own and I love that we have mutual friends and I love to hear about your beautiful girls.

Hi Andrea,

I wrote a thing in my blog that was inspired by Miche who visits you in the fishbowl often. Since I mention you in my post, and address the dog-poop thing you asked about someplace else (it eludes me where at this moment) I thought you could have a read too. Should you be procrastinating like me at the moment…

I love your blog! I found you on DotMoms which I also love. Blogs remind me that I live in a world full of people, people doing ordinary, everyday things…and that simply fascinates me! Thanks for sharing your world!

Your blog is sensational. Each day I check in on you and yours to see what is new. You make me smile and more often you make me reflect on many things. I value my “visit” with you each day!

Hi Andrea,

I posted here once before, but I check in most everyday. I am not a mom, and I am definitely not artistic. Actually, I am a chemistry professor in South Carolina. I found your blog by accident when I was looking for something entirely different. I think it might have been when you had just made a candy swap post, so I followed the link and then got hooked. Thanks for the posts. I love your art and insights, and your children are adorable.
