The art, the art is calling

Posted by andrea tomkins in: - Mail art

This is the first Christmas in many Christmases that I didn’t ask for –  nor did I receive – any art supplies. Why? Because all my artistic sensibility has left me. Left! Gone. High-tailed it faster than a coyote with its tail on fire.

This is one of the first things I’ve created since, oh, November or so.

I call it: A Pirate lies here. I have had skulls on the brain. Haha. Get it? Background: burnt veneer (Yes Marla, I know what you’re thinking – it is finally the veneer you gave me!) and layers of watered-down acrylics. Otherwise: some sharpies. It’s a start, I guess.

Tonight I have promised to spend some time with my sketchbook. It’s the only way I’ll get back into it again…

Hope you’re not worrying too much about that.. it’ll come back when it wants to. I had a long “dry spell” (apart from a few scribblings, it lasted half a year) but it sort of… evaporated, slowly.

That ATC is excellent, by the way!
