My body has failed me

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

It started with the neck. I tipped my head backwards on a kiddie ride and hurt it.

Then, I got a cold.

NOW I have pinkeye (in both eyes), a cough that would wake the dead, a stuffy nose, and my body is purging itself of mucous that’s a shade of green I don’t want to even think about, much less write about.

I am tired. My brain isn’t working. And I’ve pretty much lost my voice.

I must be cursed.

Check your warantee. I bet it’s expired, and you refused the pushy salesperson when he attempted to sell you the expensive one!

this is the summer of pinkeye! I had it too, WAY back in the beginning of the summer. It was awful.

And now I have the cold, which we have affectionately been referring to as “the crud” around our office.

Hope you’re feeling better soon!

Did I read correctly that you watched Borat and liked it? I find that so hard to believe because the Andrea I have you pictured as wouldn’t like it….but I thought it was amusing too.

Last year I had pink eye in both eye’s and as soon as I was better I gave it to my Hubby. By some miracle out little one never got it!

Thanks guys. I am feeling more human. And Porter, I did enjoy Borat, despite it being cringe-inducing in several places.

Your comment makes me wonder, about this blogging thing and the image we project about ourselves as we write. So does everyone here think I’m a big prude? :)

Get well soon; I’m sure you’re close to the end. I think I had that curse last fall when I got a) a cold, b) the flu, c) bronchitis, d) a sinus infection, and e) a mouth full of cankers. I thought I’d be sick forever. But, little by little, it all moved into the past. It’ll happen for you too!

Oh Andrea, what a crappy way to finish up summer holidays. I sure hope that you feel better soon and get over all these ailments before the kids start bringing home stuff from school.

Ah see, now, you’re just being your usual efficient self. Why drag it out over several weeks of illnesses when you can get it all over at once?

Feel better soon! And FWIW, “prude” and you don’t even belong in the same blog…

Oh dear! I hope those girls of yours are fetching you tea and tucking you in the way we all know you’d do for them. I’m so sorry to hear you are feeling so crappy!!! Summer is the worst time to be sick, there’s never anything good on tv and cuddling under warm blankets with Neocitron is uncomfortable. Please take care of yourself.
re: prude – I don’t think so… but then again I just got chastised for not spelling out bl**ping, so goodness knows I’m no judge. ;->
