When you’re feeling dreary and sickish it is really depressing to hear someone ask “what’s for dinner?” The answer might just be something like “toast” or “cereal” or “whatever you can make yourself.”

We bootskated to school yesterday. Everything was covered in a layer of ice.
“IT’S MY DREAM COME TRUE,” said Sarah.

This morning was a balmy plus one. Most of the ice that had been coating everything was gone. For some reason we got to singing the Following the leader song from Peter Pan (here is a mulitlingual version on YouTube) as we marched. And now it’s stuck. In my head. Forever. (Listen to the song at your own peril. And don’t say I didn’t warn you.)

Garlic sandwich – basically a misnomer because it’s open faced. It’s garlic bread, quick and dirty. Take one gob of butter, mince (or crush) two cloves of garlic into it and add a little sea salt. Toast some bread (thick slices are good) and smear with the garlic butter.
