It’s a special day today

It’s Earth Day! What are you doing to celebrate?

– I am going to drink my coffee on the front steps, and stop to admire the flowers that are coming up
– and then do some yard work
– after school, the girls and I are going to pick up some garbage outside the house and plant some clover seed in the lawn
– Mark biked to work, so the car is going to go unused today
– we’ll eat dinner outside

ETA: good news! The province of Ontario is banning the cosmetic use of pesticides. Woot! (Thanks Mark)

Yay, you did great for Earth day!

I have to say how proud I am of different people out with their kids at the parks and playgrounds picking up garbage. I have seen quite a few now and it really makes me feel good to see that the garbage hasn’t gone unnoticed. I haven’t done a round myself but we do pick up the odd piece and stick it in the bottom of the stroller to dispose of at home.
