the blur that was yesterday

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

I discovered two things yesterday:

1) Someone in our home came home with a case of head lice.
2) A few strands of gray somehow managed to sneak into my hair line.

Coincidence? I think not.

Gah!

So after a VERY STRESSFUL DAY (ask Porter, as my email to her contained a number of cuss words and LOTS OF CAPS) I joined about 20 women at Westboro Beach and beat my blues away.

drumming on the beach

What a week.

Is it Friday yet?

It’s Friday. Yay! Head lice. Yuck!

By the way, I know you’ve written about Ricki’s at Carlingwood. I’ve never been until yesterday. Wow! Nice store. Great tops and friendly staff.

Have a good weekend.

Embrace your gray!

I have salt-and-peper temples and have had so since my mid-twenties. My twin brother has none.

Therefore, I am wiser AND sexier.

AND you had a sticker in your smoothie. Don’t forget that.

I know that one day, the inevitable head lice occupation will occur. And it will be on that day that I will be glad that my husband’s nasty ex-wife has a nice sister who runs a local head lice removal service, and that he designed the logo and labels for their products and so she owes us.

Now THAT is a fabulous way to end a day full of swear words and uppercase letters!

I prefer to refer to gray hair as “silver highlights.”

Twice the Montessori school sent home a letter that in my 3yo’s classroom there is a confirmed case of head lice.

Twice in the past school year.

Twice he has NOT brought them home on himself.
Yet.

Good luck. Your children have such lovely long hair…

So, happy weekend!

Bummer on the head lice. Hope you don’t have to deal with it long.

The drumming looks like so much fun!
