Summer vacation: across to Nova Scotia

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Photography|travel talk

From PEI we crossed the ferry over to Nova Scotia. Emma harboured a stowaway:

(It was a ladybug.)

We stayed at a wonderful place called Pictou Lodge…

our place at Pictou

… which had wonderful views:

We were there for three sleeps, which was the perfect amount of time for our stay. It was restful yet busy. I like vacations like that, don’t you?

… but soon it was time to move on to our next destination.

Remind me to tell you about:

– the postcard in Vermont
– our holiday eating habits
– what we did to entertain ourselves during the longest stretches

I am really enjoying all of your photos. I have always wanted to visit the North Eastern United States and up into the Nova Scotia area. I think it will be one of the vacations we take with our children one day.

Your vacation looks marvelous. Did you drive out, or fly?

We did almost exactly this same vacation (driving) before we had kids. We loved PEI so much, I’d love to live there someday. Looks like the trip is very kid-friendly – we will definitely have to take the kids again…in a few years. When I have several consecutive full nights of sleep under my belt :).

SIGH… We didn’t take a vacation like that this year. I would love to now.
But since I didn’t I will take a trip with you.
Ok?
