Oh you have no idea how relieved I am that I’m not the only one that can’t totally stick to the advent thing.

I’m finding teens are hard to get into the mood! Mine even suggested that there was no point in putting up a tree or any decorations since we’re going away for Christmas.

Ack!

This was our activity for Saturday as we had my husband’s company dinner party that night. I left a gingerbread house kit and a santa/sleigh gingerbread thing for them to decorate. They ended up going to a movie and eating whatever garbage they wanted to courtesy of Grandma and Grandpa instead. We did the gingerbread after we returned on Sunday.

I’m finding it’s important for us to be really flexible with this – I’m not filling the envelope until the night before for the next day.

Andrea, I’m with you re: flexibility. I planned it out as much as I could in advance but I am also putting the message in the envelope the night before. It’s much easier that way, and at least I know what’s coming!
