LiteBook is On. Breakfast is eaten. After I’ve posted this I’m going to brush my teeth, take my vitamin D, and head to the gym … SNOW AND ALL.
I walk to the gym. It is a real pain in the butt during the weeks, nay, MONTHS of bad weather. Speaking of pain, my arms are killing me. I’ve gone back to doing pushups again and I’ve done a set of 30 (ok, girly ones) every night this week PLUS my usual 50 crunches (but I’ve been doing those for weeks now.)
But.I.Must.Go. I know the extra fitness will make me feel good and help me get through winter.
Walking is good too. I used to be a big walker. After Sarah was born I went for a power walk every night – not to lose weight, just to get out of the house. I did the same circuit every night – 30-40 minutes – and after awhile I started running the last few blocks home, just because I could. Surprising things happened to my body. Good things!
Today’s task: strike three manageable things from my annoying “I-have-to-but-I-don’t-really-want-to” list. I know this one is going to do wonders for my mental health.
What’s something YOU can strike off your list today? i.e. Call your mother? Clean out your veggie drawer? Throw something out? Darn your socks? Change your lightbulbs for CFLs?
[update: 6:00 p.m]
Here are the three niggly tasks which have been sapping me of my motherly superpowers:
- 1. Submit “new donor” form at Canadian Blood Services. DONE!
- 2. Clean my bedroom closet and fill a bag for charity. DONE
- 3. Make appointment for a physical. *sigh* But DONE!
- 4. Bonus task! Frame Emma and Sarah’s Christmas portrait. DONE!
- 5. Bonus task! Change the lightbulb in my tiny bedroom lamp. DONE!
