Moment of bliss #004

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Moments of bliss

#004

Lakes are good for the soul.

What is it that makes them so peaceful and serene? A place where you can just sit and dwell, unhindered by both the rush and the tedium of everyday life?

I feel like I can stare out into that watery space for hours on end, the wind in my face and the sun on my back, thinking of nothing and everything all at once.

There is nothing like a quiet morning/evening by a lake! Glad you had some blissful moments while away :)

I fully agree … sadly it’s another summer we’re not spending at our family’s cabin in Kenora. Miss the loons calling at night, sleeping in until who knows when, and (strangely) not showering everyday or hearing the phone ring. I don’t miss the outhouse or the black flies … but I would take those in a minute if I could be there now, swimming in that cool lake!

The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our two daughters Emma (18) and Sarah (16). I am the managing editor of our community newspaper, the Kitchissippi Times. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger, and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999... which makes me either a total dinosaur or a veteran, I'm not sure which! The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, family travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa for families. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
