My post at the UsedEverywhere blog is about my Christmas card woes. G’wan over and give me your two cents. Do you do cards or not? Me: I just can’t seem to let go.

We still do Christmas cards and actually this year and last have moved into the MAC world and used their photo cards. We put a couple of pics from the year and a little note in French and in English. We received lots of positive feedback. It’s an old tradition but I think an important one with everyone going so high tech it’s nice to step away from that and actually get something in the mail that isn’t a bill or junk mail. :-)

This was my third year of making my own cards.

In June/July I ordered address labels from VistaPrint (with the same prompts you got) and envelopes. The paper I was going to use I had received last year. In the fall I started stamping a design on the envelopes, and putting my return address label on them. In October and November I assembled the cards during my scrapboking time, and addressed the envelopes while at my son’s gymnastics lesson. I was enjoying it until that point. Then I didn’t touch them until late November, as I was sick of them. And then I had to figure out what picture to include and write something on the inside of the card.

I think next year I will buy cards (maybe make a dozen, rather than 50) and insert a nice picture of the family and cut some process out of it.
