March Break day three

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

The Tag Along March Break survivial draw is at noon today. If you haven’t entered, go!

I’m writing this, feeling like there is a big bag of heavy on the top of my head. I’ve come down with a doozy of a cold. It hit me late yesterday afternoon. What a day it was.

Friends came to visit and we had lunch at the new Cornerstone resto in Westboro. You should go, it’s yummy. And our server? She had the patience of a SAINT. We’d just finished our meal and were browsing around buying bags of Easter candy (and salty caramels, OF COURSE) at the Candy Store when I got the call. Mark was sick, and asked me to pick him up from work.

So we hightailed it home, grabbed the car, and went downtown to get him.

Emma spent the afternoon and night at a friend’s house, and while Mark convalesced I felt my good health slip away and get replaced by something a lot more snottier. I scraped together enough energy to take Sarah to Carlingwood to buy ingredients for a batch of peanut-butter cupcakes I promised we’d make. (They are kind of tasteless IMO, but I’m not sure if it’s the cold talking.)

Sarah is watching Horton Hears a Who right now (what a great movie eh?), Mark is sleeping, and I’m going to lie down. Send me healing vibes! I.Must.Survive.March.Break.

aw, that’s too bad. I hate being sick, especially when the kids are home and I can’t just hide in my bed. I’d been envying those who are home with their kids during March break, but now don’t mind so much that mine are in camp. Hope yours are independent enough by now that you can rest.
