Welcome to our newest patron: Moneyville !

Moneyville.ca!

Moneyville.ca is an infinitely practical resource about a topic many are loathe to talk about (and some never have an opportunity to learn about) … personal finance. Budgeting, saving for retirement, mortgages… these all are critically important things we all need to know about in order to make it in this world. The problem is, there’s a huge knowledge gap out there. Some of us can barely balance a chequebook and can’t figure out how much life insurance we need. But here’s the good news, Moneyville seeks to fill that gap.

Moneyville.ca would like you to know about the Next Moneyville Blogger contest. They’re looking for a blogger to join their content team. Up for grabs is $4000 cash and the opportunity to be published at Moneyville.ca and the Toronto Star. The top five finalists will have their work published on Moneyville.ca and will be given $500 for their submission. Not bad eh?

Not only is this a great opportunity for someone to get their foot in the door of a respected publication and build a writing portfolio, but it’s a chance to help inform others about important issues in the world of personal finance.

For more contest details check out www.moneyville.ca/nextblogger.

There is some really valuable content on the Moneyville site (ha – no pun intended) so even if you’re not keen on entering the contest, at the very least you should check it out and get informed.

My name is Andrea and I live in Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Sunny who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. During the day I work as a freelance writer. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
