Potted plant pudding

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Easy ways to make kids happy|Recipes and Food

We had a little friend over for dinner the other night and I was looking for something interesting to serve for dessert. I found something I liked over at Martha Stewart website.

I’m actually on another sugar fast (too much holiday munching!) so I wanted to make something that I wouldn’t feel bad about missing. The answer: chocolate pudding. :)

I cooked up a package of chocolate pudding (the kind you make on the stove with milk) and put it in small glasses. After the pudding set I sprinkled some crushed chocolate cookie crumbs over it and topped with a sprig of mint from our garden. Pretty, isn’t it?

The girls loved it. I think this one is a keeper.

So cute! I love the presentation. Fun! I have a chocolate/avocado pudding recipe my boys love. I will definitely present it this way next time.

Mmm they look delicious! I think I’ll have to try a dairy-free version!

Here is a great recipe for pudding with regular ingredients that you probably already have in your house, if you want to skip the box.

One note: leave out the water and just mix the cornstarch into the sugar before adding the milk or milk substitute (cold). I know the recipe is for soy milk, but it works just fine with regular milk as well.

[…] was looking through my own archives for March Break treats to make and I remembered this potted plant pudding (it was a total winner) and this recipe for chocolate toffee squares. I may even pull out this meal […]
