Procrastinating about important things is not a good thing

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

I have been known to procrastinate as much as the next person, but there are a few things on my list that I simply must do, and I’ve been putting them off, worrying about them, and then putting them off some more. Gah!

I’m sharing this list here so I can hold myself accountable.

  1. I need to offload the 5000 photos on my iPhone.
  2. I really need to make a doctor’s appointment, for myself and for the girls. I can’t even remember that last time we all had a checkup.
  3. I need to give blood again. (Did you know you can make appointments online? No excuses here.)
  4. I really need to have my hair coloured. And speaking of grooming:
  5. I really need to get Piper trimmed and groomed.

It boggles my mind that I haven’t been able to see these things through. It’s such a short list. What on earth is my problem?

Who’s got something on their list they need something to strike off? Shall we do it together?

I’ve been meaning to donate blood ….. for years!

Perhaps you could announce a “Donate Meet-Up” on your blog and a bunch of us could do it together — and strike it off our collective lists!

Donating blood was on my list until I discovered I have low iron, so I can’t donate :( My HUGE thing is pictures – over 5 years worth sitting on our computer. We haven’t even got a wedding album done (6 years ago). GAH…

The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human offspring: Emma (24) and Sarah (22). During the day I work as a writer at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
