Dear family, here are a few things to do in Ottawa this weekend

Posted by andrea tomkins in: - Ottawa for kids|Misc. life

Cold in Ottawa, and getting colder.

THIS lucky girl has been invited on a wee getaway to Mt. Tremblant this weekend courtesy of Ford Canada. A few local bloggy peeps will be meeting at Campbell Ford and driving to Hôtel Quintessence on Lake Tremblant for a bit of an adventure. (Translation: driving skills and delicious meals in a gorgeous setting.) I will be tweeting the fun – and possible disasters – because I’ve heard there will be a crash course in STANDARD DRIVING with a Mustang. And maybe the changing of a tire in sub-sub-sub zero temperatures. (Lor’ help me.)

Anyway, I thought I’d leave my family a short list of things they could do while I’m gone this weekend. (Family: you are free to take it or leave it.)

And speaking of film, the second part of this post about family films is now up at the MediaSmarts blog. In it I share a few of our favourite sources of films, and talk a bit about illegal downloads. Check it out right here.)

Have a great weekend everyone!

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human offspring: Emma (23) and Sarah (21). During the day I work as a writer at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
