A walk around the garden

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Home/reno

Suffice it to say, I am overwhelmed by the state of our back yard at the moment. It’s a beautiful mess back there. I was secretly hoping that the recent windy weather would blow the leaves to Timbuktu, but half of them haven’t all fallen off the trees yet. The other half just piled up in the least convenient kinds of places.

It’s a last blast for these guys:

And it’s time to say goodbye to the rock collections:

On the bright side, here’s one family member who is happy about the change in weather:

Once the ragweed is gone Piper’s off her allergy meds!

Honestly, I can’t believe it’s the end of October already. Where does the time go?

The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human daughters: Emma (20) and Sarah (18). During the day I work as a writer at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, family travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa for families. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
