Valentine’s Day in a deep freeze

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

Today is Valentine’s Day and I’m perfectly happy to be at home today. It is stinkin’ cold out there right now. Mark and I did a quick grocery shop for V-day dinner items yesterday and it hurt to be out there. IT HURT. My face ached as we dashed through the grocery store parking lot and found shelter at Loblaws. We bought mussels, garlic, cream and leeks. Bake ’em up Ace Bakery baguettes and white wine will round out tonight’s dinner. There will be chocolate and my favourite ice cream for dessert (Haagen Dazs Caramel Cone Explosion!), but that’s later. Right now it’s about coffee:

I heart coffee

.. and French toast and strawberries for brunch, which Mark is making.

There will be no flowers or gifts on this Valentine’s Day, just another day with the people I love most in the world. It could be warmer outside, but the sun is shining and all is well.

p.s. Have a good chuckle at these Valentine’s poems for married folks.

Aww, coffee, strawberries, you surely had a wonderful evening ))) I decorated our room with hearts, candles and a romantic dinner. We, women, are very creative, aren’t we ;-)
