Well, we missed skating on the canal this year. Part of me feels a bit bad about that. I can’t help but feel like we have failed at being Proud Ottawans if we don’t make it out to Winterlude for skating and a Beavertail every year. Sigh.
We did go XC skiing a couple of times, although this past weekend was a bit of a bust. We opted for a trail in the Stony Swap area called Old Quarry Trail. The weather was gorgeous, but the trail was not. Tell me, why do some people insist upon walking on the ski tracks and making a mess of it all?

My perfect Ottawa winter is snowy but not too cold. Sunny, but not warm enough to turn everything to mush. It’s a postcard, I know, but a girl can dream, can’t she?
