The day that spent itself

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Easy ways to make kids happy|Photography

I spent most of yesterday in a stupor. Honestly, I don’t know what came over me.Thankfully the girls didn’t need much help staying entertained.

Here are some of the second-hand books we picked out at the ONS (click to enlarge and see the titles):

But would you look at some of these illustrations?

The sidewalk paint idea is a keeper. I can’t believe we haven’t done this before. When the water evaporated it left behind some vivid colour. Think chalk x 50.

Then we added some plain water to another scoop of cornstarch (thankgod I bought a new box) to make goop:

Water + cornstarch = the best kind of goo

Seriously, this (combined with some sprinkler action), kept the girls occupado for most of the afternoon while I moped around.

In the evening I went for a long walk with a friend and felt better.

Okay. Back to work. :)

I get days like that too. I’m going to try the sidewalk paint idea. I’m sure The Pea will get a kick out of it.
Take care.
