Last day of school

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

Yesterday I felt like I was on some kind of crazy human hamster wheel. Kinda like this, but I wasn’t having nearly as much fun:

(Sidebar: I would love to see these in a Canadian playground, alas, I never will.)

The dizzy wheeling and falling continues today!

I got up early to make the girls pancakes for breakfast (a first this year!) and the kitchen looks like it was broken into by a herd of angry rhinoceroses with a team of rapid monkey sidekicks. And then there’s the laundry. I have work-related things coming out of my ears and some summer-related plans to figure out. I have emails waiting for answers and groceries to buy. And above all there are lists that need writing. :)

To say I am feeling overwhelmed right now would be putting it mildly.

BUT BUT BUT

It is the last day of school. No better time to capture the moment. And of course I can pull it together enough to do that.

To wit. This is how the girls began the year:

First day of school 2010

… and this is how they ended it this morning. Sadly the tree they used to pose beside is gone now.

It was hard for certain someones to keep a straight face today. And Sarah had a halo-effect going on too.

Oh Sarah and your golden halo!

Tall girl

I can’t believe how much they’ve grown. (Compare this to the 2008-2009 school year post!)

I hope you all had a very good Last Day at School. Now tell me, are you as ready for summer as I am right now? :)

Holy growth, indeed! Isn’t it awe-striking when you look back at the beginning of the year to compare?

Enjoy your summer! We are!
